In New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act protects unrelated warranty claims. Any tune we perform can be reversed to the factory file before dealer visits — free, for life.

Absolutely. Our on-road tunes are fully compliant. DPF/EGR removal is only performed on off-road, race or export vehicles.

Diesels typically drop 8–15%. Petrol economy gains are smaller (3–7%) but still meaningful under light throttle.

Most cars are 60–120 minutes. Trucks and plant vary — we quote per vehicle.

Yes — for fleets of 5+ vehicles anywhere in NZ. Private mobile jobs are available in metro Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Smart Tuning offers a free mobile tuning service across New Zealand. We come to your home, workplace or depot, read and download your ECU data on-site, then take it back to our workshop where a named engineer builds a professional, engineered remap. We return the next day to install the tuned file and verify the vehicle.

The service includes mobile ECU reading at your location, secure transport of your data back to our workshop, custom file development by a qualified calibration engineer, and next-day installation at your location. It is a fully managed, end-to-end remapping service — no need to visit a workshop.

Day 1: we arrive at your location, read and download your ECU data. The vehicle stays with you. Day 2: we return with the engineered tune and install it, then run final checks. Larger commercial vehicles or remote locations may take an extra day, and we will confirm this when booking.

Always declare modifications. We provide a written specification for your insurer, and most NZ insurers accept a factory-safe remap without loading.

We tune the ICE side of hybrids (e.g. Ranger PHEV, Highlander HV). Full EVs are on our R&D roadmap.
